A Golden Opportunity

On November 19, the world was blessed with a wonderful gift – the birth of a child who
would grow to become a woman who’s worth her weight in gold.

When I married Jessica some 19 years ago, I knew that I had struck gold.  What I didn’t know was that I was sitting on a goldmine. Jessica is one of the most complex people I know. She’s unpredictable, inexplicable, and incorrigible, but in all the best ways, because underlying every thought, word, and action lies a heart of gold.

Whether it’s loving her family, caring for animals, or adding the final touches to her most recent work of art, Jessica sets the gold standard.  She’s had her share of tough times and sorrows that no one should suffer, but she has always pulled through with the knowledge that you can’t have a rainbow without any rain and with the unshakeable conviction that at the end of every rainbow is a pot of gold.

While it would be impolite to mention a lady’s age, let’s just say that this birthday presents a golden opportunity to celebrate a woman who’s as good as gold.

Happy Birthday, Jessica!

Love, Caitlin, Annie, and Mike
